For Students

Student of today are the Artists of tomorrow. ATC’s Learning & Education programs inspire creativity in students across the state in a number of ways, both connected to our stages and beyond our walls.

Whether you are looking for an immersive summer experience, or a theater to be involved in throughout the school year, we want you to make Arizona Theatre Company your new artistic home.

ATC Teen is a free arts leadership program for teens in Tucson and Phoenix. Teen members will have the opportunity to design their own projects, whether they want to start an improv troupe or write a play, learn about stage design or arts management, we have the resources for you to pursue your ideas!

As a Teen Member you will have the opportunity to:
-Attend ATC mainstage professional shows for FREE!
-Get access to special classes and workshops designed for ATCteens
-Plan your own artistic projects and events!
-Help us create new programming geared towards teens!
And so much more!.

ATCTeen operates on a three-tier membership system. We have ATCteen Members, ATCteen Leaders, and ATCteen Council:

ATCteen Member– Once you attend an ATCteen event you are officially an ATCteen member. Members participate in at least one project a year, while still getting all the free perks.

ATCteen Leaders-Leadership is an integral part of ATCteen. We want everyone to have a chance to lead during their time with ATCteen. To be considered an ATCteen Leader you should lead at least one project a year.

ATCteen Council-The Council connects our professional staff to the rest of our teen members. These peer elected individuals will be an integral part of designing better programming for youth.

This summer from June 24 to July 28, we are celebrating the power of the individual with our SUMMER OF RISING productions:

by  Qui Nguyen
Directed by Israel Jiménez

A comedic romp into the world of fantasy role-playing games. She Kills Monsters tells the story of high schooler Agnes Evans as she deals with the death of her younger sister, Tilly. When Agnes finds Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook, however, she stumbles into a journey of discovery and action-packed adventure in the imaginary world that was Tilly’s refuge. In this high-octane dramatic comedy laden with homicidal fairies, nasty ogres, and 90s pop culture, acclaimed young playwright Qui Nguyen offers a heart-pounding homage to the geek and warrior within us all.

Book by Dennis Kelly and Music & Lyrics by Tim Minchin
Directed by Jasmine Roth

The story of an extraordinary girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny. Inspired by the twisted genius of Roald Dahl, the Tony Award-winning Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical is the captivating masterpiece from the Royal Shakespeare Company that revels in the anarchy of childhood, the power of imagination and the inspiring story of a girl who dreams of a better life. With book by Dennis Kelly and original songs by Tim Minchin, Matilda has won 47 international awards and continues to thrill sold-out audiences of all ages around the world.
