New Faces in ATC’s Education Department
ATC is pleased to introduce a new Education Department!
Meet Director of Education Christopher Moseley and Education Outreach Coordinator Emily Burritt!
Chris has been involved in theater education for over 15 years. He received his B.F.A. in Acting/ Directing at the University of Arizona and his M.F.A. in Acting at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. He was a working actor in San Francisco and Los Angeles before moving back to Tucson to raise his family. Having taught classes at the American Conservatory Theater and running theatre programs at Cholla High, Palo Verde High School, part of Tucson Unified School District, Chris had spent the past 8 years at Catalina High School. He also has extensive arts integration experience as a member of the design team for Tucson Unified School District’s Opening Minds through the Arts (OMA) program for ten years. He has facilitated teacher professional development in Tucson, Phoenix, Flagstaff and Denver.
Emily became enamored with theatre in middle school, where she experienced the classic “coming out of her shell” moment during a theatre summer camp. Emily performed through high school and college, started interning in some theatre production classes and found her love for theatre education. Since then, she has received two degrees from Grand Canyon University, one in education and one in theatre, and has spent the last three years teaching full time and running the theatre department at BASIS Phoenix and teaching other various companies around the Phoenix Valley. Emily also does private acting classes and coaching. Although her main passion has always been teaching, you can find Emily on the stage in Phoenix or behind the table as a director or dramaturg.
Stay tuned for more exciting news from our Education Department as we kick off our 54th Season!
