Carol DuVal Whiteman: Emeritus Trustee
The Arizona Theatre Company staff, volunteers, artists and Board of Trustees extend a heartfelt thank you to Carol DuVal Whiteman for her visionary leadership and support of the arts and education in Tucson.
She had a love of the stage. In 1966, she became one of the founders of the Arizona Civic Theater, which in subsequent years became the Arizona Theatre Company. If her love was for the theater, her passion was the ballet; she was credited as being one of the three saviors of Ballet Arizona some years ago when it was facing collapse.
As a longtime ATC emeritus trustee, Carol was considered the first Managing Director ATC ever had. Carol received the Georgy Award in 2017 along with Dino DeConcini and Stanley Feldman, who were both trustees on the original Board in 1966.
It’s thanks to the generosity and passion of Carol, and so many others, that Arizona Theatre Company continues to bring world-class theatre to Arizona.
