ATC@FilmBar: Priscilla, Queen of the Desert

ATC@FilmBar: Priscilla, Queen of the Desert

Don’t miss our ATC@FilmBar film series! Our last film screening of the season is, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Wednesday, March 25, 6:00 p.m.

Arizona Theatre Company, in collaboration with FilmBar, presents ATC@FilmBar, a short series of films that share common themes and artistic vision with productions in our 2019/2020 season. The next film in the series is on Big Gay Wednesday – a sing-a-long Priscilla Queen of the Desert! When drag queen Anthony (Hugo Weaving) agrees to take his act on the road, he invites fellow cross-dresser Adam (Guy Pearce) and transsexual Bernadette (Terence Stamp) to come along. In their colorful bus, named Priscilla, the three performers travel across the Australian desert performing for enthusiastic crowds and homophobic locals. But when the other two performers learn the truth about why Anthony took the job, it threatens their act and their friendship.

Costumes encouraged! Raffle & Wine Specials! A chat with local drag performers sharing their personal journeys follows the screening. Presented with support from Arizona Theatre Company & ION AZ!

Jump aboard the bus for this fabulous drag queen buddy road trip! The perfect well dressed and coiffed companion for our production of The Legend of Georgia McBride.
